The Book Aesthetics Tag

The Book Aesthetics Tag is a tag that encourages bloggers to put together aesthetics (kind of like moodboards) for some of their favourite books and characters. I wasn’t actually tagged to do this, but saw  Lia’s post and loved looking through her aesthetics, so decided to give it a try myself.

  • Thank whoever nominated you (maybe you’re bitter that you have ANOTHER tag to do on top of the billions you already need to do (#relatable), still though. Someone thought of you. Be thankful. At least pretend to be
  • Credit the creator of this tag (Michelle!)
  • There’s no limit of how many aesthetics you can make for a question, but think of your poor readers.
  • Make your OWN aesthetics, please don’t steal them from someone else. Also what’s the fun in that?

Favourite Book of the Year

A Conjuring of Light by V. E. Schwab

Not only is this my favourite book of the year, this is one of my favourite books of all time. I loved everything about this ending to V. E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic series.

A Character You Relate to Alot

Cath, from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I loved this book, and thought Cath was such a believable character. I could absolutely relate to her love of her favourite book series, plus the fact that she’s an introvert.

A Character You Look Up To

Althea Vestrit, The Liveship Traders series by Robin Hobb

The Liveship Traders is another of my favourite series, featuring a determined, headstrong and brave protagonist called Althea. Althea is definitely an aspirational character for me, so I would definitely look up to her bravery and determination.

An Underrated Gem

The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski

Even though the Witcher books are relatively well-known, I still feel like they deserve more attention. A lot of people probably dismiss these as “books of video games”, but actually the books came first and they’re amazing.

A Character That Deserves More Love

Laura Moon, from American Gods by Neil Gaiman

Laura Moon is one of the most interesting characters I’ve come across in a while. She deserved a lot more attention in American Gods, so I was glad to see she was dedicated an entire episode in the TV series.

An Underrated OTP

Amos and Clarissa from The Expanse series by James S. A. Corey

A pair of characters I became really invested in whilst reading Nemesis Games (book 5 in The Expanse series) were Amos and Clarissa. These two worked so well together, and have a really interesting dynamic. I definitely ship them.

I really enjoyed doing this tag, and actually, it’s got me thinking that I might start creating more aesthetics for books/characters and posting them on here! I’m not going to tag anyone to do this, but instead invite anyone who reads this and things this tag looks like fun to give it a go like I did.
